Thank you, Amazon

One of the good things about being here is our proximity to the UK and Germany.  That means stuff we buy from Amazon arrives on our doorstep within the week.  And shipping is usually free.

So we had CDs, Blu-rays, milk-pumps and bottle sterilisers arriving almost weekly in January.  And some other cool stuff like these below:

We have been Dyson fans for many years.  This is our third, and by far, coolest vacuum cleaner.  If you've gotta suck dirt, might as well have some fun whilst doing it.

Kev's new toy, the Sony NEX-3.  Most of Lucas' pics were taken with this camera.

My MacBook Pro *love* *love*.  Thank you amazon.de.  We are officially Apple fans now.

The keyboard is QWERTZ instead of QWERTY.  It has some extra German letters.  I have to rely on memory to find symbols like @, *, ', etc.   It's still fabulous, nonetheless.

My 3am supper companions.

These are not from Amazon.  They are EUR15 Crocs from the factory outlet at Batavia Stad (www.batavia.nl) - certainly worth a mention.

Full moon

We celebrated Lucas' one month and Kev's birthday in early February.

He pretty much frowned and slept through the whole thing, so Kevin did all the candle blowing and cake cutting.

The little prince and his loyal slaves subjects.

He finally woke up for what mattered - milkkk!!

Mr. Happy

More shots of Mr. Happy doing what he does best: sleeping.

Posing with the Den Haag mascot

Watched over by his cat nannies

Snoozing in his stroller, although he's not going anywhere

In his over-sized cardigan

He does entertain us sometimes, when he is awake.

Making daddy work in his unco-ordinated PJs.
He may not be able to speak, but he sure knows how to choose his pacifiers.

Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Happy Chinese New Year to all our family and friends!  Wishing you abundant happiness, good health and prosperity!

Here's a cool lion dance video clip to help usher in your new year.   These are no ordinary lions - they hip hop, dance to the Nutcracker Suite and even tango!

Bump Update: Hello World!

Baby Lucas says hello to his many uncles, aunties, cousins and daddy n mommy's friends!

He was born on 7th January 2011, 11.28pm at Bronovo Hospital in The Hague, Netherlands.  It was a normal delivery and he weighed 3kg exactly.  He was induced at full term + 1 day.

This is his favourite kangaroo impersonation :)

First bath in the good hands of Santa, his Kraamzorg nurse.

Nice and happy after the bath.

Nice and happy after a meal.

Nice and happy after the xxxth diaper change.

Some shots at Bronovo Hospital:

The spacious and well-equipped delivery suite.

The poor little guy all hooked up in the incubator.  He had a fever and very high heart rate at birth.  Thankfully he recovered very quickly.

Being fed formula milk from a cup.

Many thanks for all your thoughts, prayers and well wishes!  We truly appreciate them.  We will post more photos in the coming weeks.  Baby Lucas is looking forward to meeting all of you personally!

Bump Update and Drive DE: Black Forest

Hi, we're going to the hospital tomorrow to be induced.  Hopefully will have happy news to share with you guys in a couple of days :)

Meanwhile, here are some photos from our 6 hour road trip to Baden-Baden/Black Forest back in October 2010!  We stayed at a scenic little village near Neuweier, about 10 minutes drive from Baden-Baden.  From there, we visited Colmar at the French border and also drove around the upper Black Forest region - it was a lovely short break to enjoy the autumn colours.
