What's For Lunch?

"Hey mummy, what's for lunch, huh?  Huh?"

"Oooh, check out the size of my bib."

"Sweet potato and cauliflower."

"Bleahh!"

"But that's what Aunty Gina* says you must eat!"

The aftermath.

Post-meal entertainment.

* We are using Gina Ford's The Contented Little Baby Book of Weaning, following a friend's recommendation.  She tells you exactly what to do (and at what time) every day for the first month of weaning.  Great for the clueless like me.  I've steered clear of her books so far, but I think this one is good.

Cousins!

Lucas had a lovely visit from his cousins, aunty and uncle recently.  They brought many toys and treats, including more Korean DVDs for daddy and mommy, yay!

Here are some shots of their 2-week adventure in Den Haag (photos courtesy of Richard and Steph):

Early morning arrival after a 13-hour flight.

Breakfast in Den Haag, with prata from Singapore!

Apparently The Netherlands was not cold enough for Ben.

Lucas having fun with jie jie Chloe.

Photo taken by Steph.  Our neighbours gave us these gorgeous lilies.  They were 3 feet tall.  We had to borrow Wuna's lovely vase :)

Waiting for day-trip pick-up.

All smiles because of the Coke..

.. and beer.

Mr. Funny Face is at it again.

Chloe is amused by her daddy.

Getting to know the locals in beautiful Edam.

A rather unfortunate looking bird.

Steph's yummy lor bak.

We had a great time at Madurodam, although the weather was a bit chilly.

Lucas was more interested in the little people.

Attack of the giant seagull.

More fun time for Lucas!

Lunch at Simonis at Scheveningen beach.
The wonders of a fishbowl lens.  Kev and I thought we were not in the picture, hence the strrrretch.

Walking to town past the Den Haag Centraal station.

De Stadskelder pannenkoeken (pancake) restaurant, below street level with an interesting interior.

This is how we eat pancake in The Netherlands.

The kids are not impressed by the Binnenhof.  This is where the Dutch parliament has been meeting since 1446, and where the prime minister's office is located.
